My name is Tess Murphy and I am currently perusing a Masters of Art Education at Illinois State University. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from Illinois State in 2021. I specialize my studio practice in printmaking and work part time for a local screen printing business.

Before attending graduate school I worked full time as a Teaching Assistant in a childcare program from 2-3 year olds. After acquiring 30+ credits in Early Childhood Education, I then moved to the role of the Lead Teacher for that classroom. Watching little ones explore materials and make new discoveries reignited my passion for exploring the process of art making and how it is applied to learning about the world around us. I am most interested in project-based approaches to lesson planning where the projects are ongoing and immersive in investigation of big ideas.
